From syllabus schedule: Read The Atlantic article, “Challenging Whiteness by Default” and upload Argument summary thesis and two subclaims to myLearning Think about: Should the minimum wage be raised, under what circumstances?    

Revised Homework for Wednesday, 9/13:

1. Actively read and annotate the article "Challenging Culture's Whiteness by Default," which is posted in the module, Unit 2: Argument Summary, on our myLearning course site.

• Also, make sure to review your guidelines for your first graded written assignment, Argument Summary_White Privilege, which explains your main purpose in how to respond to the article.

• We will cover writing thesis statements/powerful topic sentences on Wednesday, and you will post a draft for this assignment by the end of next class, after the lesson.

2. Finish reading Writing Arguments, Chapter 2: Argument as Inquiry, if you haven't. Review it, if you have.
